WWE announced late Wednesday night via Twitter that Tyler Reks has been released from his contract with the organization.

"WWE has come to terms on the release of Gabe Tufts (Tyler Reks) as of Tuesday, Aug. 21. We wish Gabe all the best in his future endeavors," the message reads, which was made through an iPad.

Reks, whose real name is actually Gabe Tuft, cited his desire to spend time with his family in a message posted on Facebook and Twitter. He wrote, "I realized recently that being a Superstar means sacrificing certain things, including time with my family. As a new father, my heart broke every time I had to leave to go on the road. I didn't ever want to miss another moment with my daughter, so I made the decision to be a full time dad and hang up my boots."

SmackDown Superstar William Regal, who feuded with Reks earlier this year on NXT , commented on his release via Twitter : "I was told that Tyler Reks has finished with WWE.Talented lad who was a gentleman.I admire his unselfish gesture for his family.Good man."

Raw Superstar JTG also posted his tweet since his controversial diatribe two weeks ago, writing, "The locker room will miss you bro."

WWE.com announced Wednesday that Rey Mysterio suffered a concussion during his match Sunday against The Miz at SummerSlam .

The website notes that according to a backstage source, WWE personnel "suspected [a concussion] because he hit his head." The following day, precautionary impact testing was conducted and "showed that [Mysterio] is below baseline, which means he sustained some sort of concussion."

The website has confirmed that Mysterio is not medically cleared to compete at this time. The San Diego native did not appear on Raw or SmackDown , and has been removed from all events through a least this coming weekend.

During the Intercontinental Championship Match, The Miz executed a "brutal sit-down powerbomb" which snapped Mysterio's head against the canvas. WWE.com attributes the trauma suffered from the maneuver to The Awesome One's successful title defense.

WWE physician Michael Sampson says Mysterio "had the first [test] on Monday, which showed us that he was below baseline. The physical exam was normal, but neuropsych testing was below normal. That's the beauty of neuropsych testing. Based on reaction time and memory, we can measure on a computer, and he was below his baseline. That saves [Mysterio] from causing further injury from the concussion."

WWE.com has confirmed that Mysterio will not return to the squared circle until he is at baseline and passes an exertion test. "To be determined at baseline, Mysterio must pass the aforementioned impact/neuropsych test later in the week. Only then will he be permitted to undergo exertion testing," the website notes.

WWE.com's backstage source estimates that Mysterio "will probably be taking [the impact test today] if he's still symptom-free, or later on this week."

Reilly is an Orlando, Florida-based actress who has appeared in informercials and television commercials. Shortly after her name came out, she went to great lengths to protect her identity online as she removed the contents of her official website and YouTube channel, and deleted her LinkedIn account. Wrestlers were told she had parted ways with the organization, but not given a reason why. Her ongoing storyline with AJ Styles is expected to conclude on Thursday's episode of Impact Wrestling with a paternity test segment.

His 2-out-of 3 Fall match with Tommaso Ciampa and how the Ciampa's injury changed the match: "I tell you, it was actually before the first fall. Before the bell had even rung, because we attempted to do, in professional wrestling, what is called a jump start where the match actually starts before the bell even rings but you only get into the match like 10 seconds before the ref rings the bell. So, before the bell even rang, right away I'm like "he's hurt" and he attempted to stand up a few times and couldn't even do it; he's screaming cuss words. Right away I'm like, �Ok, I'll get my first fall here and give him some time to rest' as we get a 30-second break between each fall. So, I thought, �I guess we can just get out of here because this isn't entertainment'; much like if Denzel (Washington) got hurt on set, I'm sure they'd call cut, that's probably why they don't do movies live with a live audience. But luckily Tommaso, he's a trooper, man, so he wanted to continue the whole time too; and we went a good distance, a whole 20-minutes, and he wanted to do the 2-out-of-3 falls so credit to him. I don't know if I would have done it if in his shoes; he was hurting pretty bad."

Being able to see wresting through a fan's perspective: "As a fan, and I think I have a little edge over some people, as opposed to when other wrestlers say �look at it from a fan's point of view'; the longer you are a wrestler, the harder it is to look at it from a fan point of view. We think it's easy but some people they have delusions of grandeur; they don't quite understand that once when you become a wrestler, it automatically means you over think certain things and you never, ever, EVER think like a fan anymore. No matter who says it, how many times they say it, how much they believe it, it's just impossible; you know too much and know too much back story and you over think things and not even on purpose. It just seems to happen. Being one of the youngest guys, I feel that I'm still a victim of not being able to look at it fully from a fan point of view, even thought I feel that I do, sometimes. As one of the youngest guys, I feel I would have a little edge over the older guys.

If he'd step up to face Kevin Steen, if asked, and his thoughts on S.C.U.M.: "To answer that, first of all, 100 percent; it's not a question of would I, it's a question of when will Jim Cornette give me the opportunity to step in the ring with Kevin Steen. Not only do I feel it would be an honor to step into the ring with the World Champion, like I did with Davey Richards when he was the world champion, but I'd like to get a chance to test myself against the company's number one guy. And they are creative, they've got the evil, which is live spelled backwards and I just think it would just be really cool."

On his interaction with Ric Flair: "I get that question all the time, �what was it like doing that promo back and forth with Ric Flair' (the �That's my line' That's MY Line' promo); that whole thing was actually on the fly, that was one of the scariest days of my life. The reason it was so scary was because, and I wrote this in my blog, this was the first time that TNA, ever EVER gave me a chance to have any kind of live promo… not only was it a live promo, a live microphone, but it was in the ring. Nine times out of ten, when a wrestler goes to the ring with a microphone, he already knows what he is going to say; he has bullet points of what he's going to say, or he has some kind of major outline. Very rarely nowadays do wrestlers go to the ring, completely not knowing what they are going to say or without a topic because its television and everything has to be written out, everything has to be planned, and the owners have to know what is going to be put on their television.

"Ric Flair is one of those guys that you cannot write something for and he will not let you write anything for him, so therefore, nothing could be written for me ahead. Everything that I had to go off of, as far as an outline, was going to be said by Ric Flair; I just had to feed off of him and do whatever he said; just fed off of whatever he said. If he had said something about alphabet soup, I would have had to jump all over alphabet soup, which was scary because, like I said, this was the first time they ever gave me a live microphone and now they are pushing me out there to go toe-to-toe with one of the best microphone artists this sport has ever seen."

Tyler Reks posted the following on his Twitter account in regards to his release from WWE.

I just want to say thank you to WWE, Inc. for allowing me to be part of an incredible entertainment experience. On Monday, I asked for my release and the company was gracious enough to grant my request.

I realized recently that being a Superstar means sacrificing certain things, including time with my family. As a new father, my heart broke every time I had to leave to go on the road. I didn't ever want to miss another moment with my daughter, so I made the decision to be a full time dad and hang up my boots.

I will miss everyone in the locker room tremendously as they have all become a second family to me. I want to thank my coaches and teachers that really helped me along the way: Fit Finlay, Arn Anderson, Edge, Christian, Kane, Jericho, Dr. Tom, Norman Smiley, and Billy Kidman.

I also want to thank my boys. You know who you are. Especially though, a huge thank you to Hawkins. You were like a brother to me the last year and I'll miss you and will always love you bro. I wish you the best and thanks for understanding that I had to go be a dad. When she's older, and able to realize what happened, I know Mia will thank you as well.

- Former WWE developmental wrestler Marcus Owens issued a negative assessment on David Otunga's working ability after watching him compete on television.

"I swear David Otunga is the most unsafe guy, I've ever seen on TV," he wrote on Facebook. "I'd rather work Sid Vicious back when he was with the IV Horseman…LOL."

This is not the first time where Otunga's wrestling ability has been publicly dismissed by a fellow wrestler. Chris Masters stated during an interview following his release from WWE last year, "He's got two left feet. C'mon, just watch him walk around the ring for five minutes."

- As reported over the weekend, Tammy "Sunny" Sytch will check out of her WWE-sponsored rehabilitation program on Thursday. She was allowed out of her rehab house on Saturday and made a surprise appearance that day at a Bodyslam Wrestling Organization event in Elmwood Park, New Jersey as the manager of Damien Darling. After Darling lost in the main event, Sytch "revived" him with a kiss, who then carried her to the backstage area to conclude the show. Sytch plans to immediately resume her wrestling career after getting out of rehab as she has a show scheduled on Saturday.

- Gridiron Gang , starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, will air on MTV this Sunday at 1:23 p.m.

"The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero is officially out of the 2012 Bound For Glory Series, ImpactWrestling.com announced Wednesday .

Last week at Hardcore Justice , The Aces and 8s viciously attacked Dinero, particularly his shoulder, rendering him unable to compete that night in his scheduled Bound For Glory Series match. Following a visit to the doctor, Dinero said he would be sidelined for a few months. Enclosing an image of a broken collarbone, Dinero tweeted, "Looks like Pope will be out of action for a couple months. Damn You Aces & Apes!!! ~PHS."

Dinero's news has caused Impact Wrestling to officially eliminate him from the remainder of the Bound For Glory Series. In this year's format, every wrestler was scheduled to face everyone in the tournament. Dinero had three matches left to compete in, against AJ Styles, Rob Van Dam and Robbie E.

ImpactWrestling.com says Sting will make a decision regarding the matter and those matches tomorrow night on Impact Wrestling on Spike TV at 8/7c.
