Jay Lethal Sets Ring of Honor Record

Jay Lethal Sets Ring of Honor Record

Ring of Honor sent out the following announcement today regarding Jay Lethal’s recent milestone:

Jay Lethal, the self anointed "Greatest First Generation Wrestler" has reached a historic milestone, never seen by any ROH World Television Champion in history. He has now held the championship for 365 days! He now officially owns every record associated with the ROH World Television Championship and there appears to be no end in sight.

Winning the championship on April 4, 2014 from Tommasso Ciampa, it would have been a long shot for anyone to suggest Lethal would reach this point. He not only broke the length of an individual reign, he also has defended it a record-setting 26 times.  Names such as #Reborn Matt Sydal, Alberto El Patron and  Jushin "Thunder" Liger are a just a small sample of the challengers who have fallen in defeat to perhaps the greatest champion in ROH history.

Truth Martini, statistically the greatest manager in Ring of Honor history, has assured us that his champion Jay Lethal is not happy with just breaking and creating records. He has assured us that Lethal is here to own all record books and he will not stop at just being the greatest ROH World Television Champion.

We at Ring of Honor would like to congratulate Jay Lethal on reaching this impressive milestone.
