Magicians and Monsters: 13 Supernatural Videos

Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the 20 th installment of the most consistent wrestling countdown series on the interweb—this is "Lucky Thirteen." This week we're taking a look at the most Superhuman Sports Entertainers to ever enter the squared circle. Rather than write a couple hundred words and attach some random photographs, I decided to do a VIDEO entry! Below you'll find some of the most bizarre things you're likely to come across within the WWE Universe and beyond! Some of these videos are gross, others are hilarious, and some are downright scary! My name is Mark Adam Haggerty from Cheap-Heat, Daily Wrestling News, Gutbusters, and the B+ Players and you've stumbled across "Magicians and Monsters: The Most Supernatural Wrestling Stars."

13) Adam Bomb
We begin with a man billed from the "Three Mile Island," AKA the strip of land designated to test nuclear devices. The result is a man with seemingly supernatural strength, with a finishing move known as the "Neutron Bomb."

12) Mil Muertes
Mil Muertes is basically the "Undertaker" of Lucha Underground, and thus reigns supreme in his own specialty bout—the casket match. Check out this video of Mil Muertes in the very first casket match in Lucha Underground, dubbed "Grave Consequences."

11) Se7en
Se7en didn't last long, but the time he spent on WCW television was enough for some parents to change the channel forever. Dustin Runnels AKA Goldust was out of a job, and debuted for WWE's competition as a mystical pedophile that floated to the ring and appeared outside children's windows.

10) Mordecai
In 2004, the WWE must have decided: "Hey, so it's been a while since we introduced Kane—the Demon to his Phenom—how about another big man with a supernatural gimmick?" Mordecai wore all white and was the Angel to the already established Demon and Phenom. It didn't work, and Mordecai was repacked some years later for WWE's ECW as Kevin Thorn. That also didn't work.

9) Boogeyman
The Boogeyman appeared as if from out of nowhere, and could usually be found chowing down on a handful of worms. During his short run in WWE, the Boogeyman managed to mix it up with big stars such as Booker T and even John Cena. He created such a lasting impression that he still shows up on WWE programming today. So we can never be too sure about when the Boogeyman is coming to get us.

8) Hornswoggle
This might seem like a strange pick, but if you check out the video provided, I'm sure you'll see where I'm coming from. Hornswoggle is a normal dude nowadays, but he was initially introduced as a Leprechaun that lived under the ring! They even had a segment on Raw about what goes on under the ring, featuring a judge presiding over the—uh, Little People's Court .

7) Gangrel and the Brood
It seems that Vampires have become en vogue in recent years, but my favorite undead deviant has always been—and will always be GANGREL! Gangrel was the leader of the Brood, a group of blonde haired Devil Worshippers that included future world champions Christian and Edge. Gangrel made his entrance through the stage as if ascending from Hell, and left his opponents bathing in buckets of blood!

6) Abyss
TNA has had its share of superhuman superstars over the years. I seem to remember a guy by the name of Rellik, whose name was KILLER—but backwards. But no monster has left his mark on Total Nonstop Action in the way that Abyss has. He's proclaimed himself the unofficial king of hardcore within the confines of a six-sided ring and has remained dedicated to his home promotion since day one.

5) Kevin Sullivan and the Dungeon of Doom
Kevin Sullivan was always a strange individual, but he really went off the deep end in 1995, when he introduced audiences to the Dungeon of Doom. Kevin played the "Darth Vader" character his "Master," King Curtis Iaukea. Together they sought to destroy Hulkamania, and went about doing so with paranormal performers such as the Shark, the Giant, Kamala, the Zodiac, and the Yeti. Oh and Lex Luger.

4) Kane
Number four is the "Devil's Favorite Demon," and half-brother to the Undertaker, Kane. Kane made his presence felt as soon as he debuted; he wanted to fight his brother, but settled for sacrificing nearly every member of the active roster. Kane's greatest fantastical feat has always been his near imperviousness to pain, which has helped him stand toe-to-toe with some of wrestling's biggest stars—as well as "Fake Kane."

3) Bray Wyatt
It would seem as though Windham Rotunda paid extra-special attention to his father's former Varsity Club partner, Kevin Sullivan. Bray Wyatt has been called the "New Face of Fear" in the WWE, and has quickly taken up the mantle as "resident Phenom" of this new generation. It's unclear whether Wyatt's repertoire is actually enchanted, or if his ghosts and goblins are only smoke and mirrors.

2) Papa Shango
Papa Shango is the number two most Magical Monster on our list, and while his run within the WWE was short-lived, it was all based around voodoo! Shango had a memorable program with the Ultimate Warrior that resulted in some strange uh—melting? He caused ink to jettison from the former champion's hairline, and concocted a curse that made him violently ill.

1) The Undertaker and the Ministry of Darkness
You had to know that the Undertaker was going to be number one. The Undertaker is the benchmark for what a Supernatural Superstar can be, and how far the gimmick can be pushed. During the course of his career, the Undertaker has been burned, buried, crushed, electrocuted, and struck over the skull with everything in any given arena. And he still remains intact. He's brought us countless match types including the "Casket Match," "The Last Ride," and "Buried Alive." Although his storylines have had the tendency to slip beyond suspension of disbelief, the Undertaker is a pop culture icon that transcends professional wrestling.
