Welcome back to " Scraping the Barrel"— a weekly video countdown of must-see moments from TNA Impact. My name is Mark Adam Haggerty and I'm happy to be with you on another lovely Thursday morning, fresh off the heels of Total Nonstop Action . I think some readers might get the wrong idea when it comes to the tongue-in-cheek nature of this column. The joke is that TNA couldn't possibly have five memorable moments every week, right? Well, to be honest I've been pleasantly surprised since the debut of this column just over one month ago. Wait a tick—a TNA-centric article introduced in August of 2015? This venture could very well prove to be the cruiserweight tag titles of wrestling blogs. I will choose to be optimistic however, and look forward to continuing this tradition well into the future. But enough talk. You didn't come here to talk, you came here to sit back and watch videos. So let's get the party started with number five on this week's edition of " Scraping the Barrel. "
5. The TNA World Tag Team Championship
The TNA world tag titles are on the line for the second time in as many weeks, with the newly crowned champions—Trevor Lee and Brian Meyers—defending against the former title holders, the American Wolves. If you're a fan of uh—Earl Hebner, then you definitely don't want to miss this!
4. Eric Young Has Three Legs
Chris Melendez is in the
Impact Zone
—without a leg. He calls Young out, and issues a challenge for a second confrontation, so Melendez can win his BODY PART back. Young tells the crowd to look at their American hero; the former member of
Team Canada
says that if Melendez is a hero—he doesn't want to be a hero.
3. Six Man Tag Team Competition
The ongoing rivalries outside of the overall "
TNA/GFW War
" are just as important, if not more so, to the future of the company.
Global Force Wrestling
can't always be part of TNA—then it becomes the NWO, and eats away at the rest of the roster from the inside out. Tonight we get a six-man tag team match which helps to cross promote various stories including Robbie E's rivalry with Jessie Godderz, and the ongoing conflict between former partners Eli Drake and Micah.
2. The Knockouts Division is on Fire
TNA's Creative Department deserves a special kudos for concocting not one, not two, but
three
separate programs involving the very talented women of
Impact Wrestling
. The WWE's "Diva Revolution" might be turning heads toward women like Charlotte and Sasha Banks, but booking nine out of twelve main roster Diva's in the same program is lazy. Check out the full match between Gail Kim and Brooke for the
Knockout Title
, and stay tuned for the final moments featuring Awesome Kong and Lei’D Tapa.
1. Global Force Wrestling Maintains its Edge
Tonight's main event is a lumberjack match that will decide which team should have the advantage going into next week's
Lethal Lockdown
where "Winner Takes All." Drew Galloway competes with Chris "The Adonis" Mordetzky, with members of
both
rosters surrounding the ring. After Drew hits the
Future Shock DDT
, he makes the mistake of
NOT
going for the cover. As he sets his sights on further crippling the GFW infrastructure, Jeff Jarrett and Eric Young become involved with the finale.
