We press forward. Fresh off of WWF’s Royal Rumble 1996, we go straight into the Monday Night War (and ECW TV) with fallout from the Rumble on RAW, while Nitro is building towards The Clash of the Champions. В Former WCW World Champion VADER is making is WWF TV debut on RAW, as we start to see the beginning of the “talent acquisition” era.

WWF Monday Night RAW – 1.22.96

-Our main event is WWF Champion vs. WWF IC Champion – Bret Hart against Goldust.

-Jim Cornette asks us what time it is after Savio Vega enters…and Vader makes his WWF RAW debut.

vaderwwf

-Vega got annihilated. Vader attacks after the match, and hits another Vader Bomb on Vega. Vader then takes out the referee, and McMahon goes apeshit on commentary. Another referee comes in, and Vader takes him out too. Gorilla Monsoon gets in the ring and goes face to face with Vader. Vader calls for the microphone from the ring announcer (ugh, not Fink), and the announcement is made that Vader is indefinitely suspended.

Vader_gorillamonsoon

-Vader shoves Cornette out of the way, gets in Monsoon’s face again, and then retreats. Cornette tries to get Vader to calm down, but Vader goes and taps Monsoon on the back while he’s checking on the official. Monsoon ignores him, so Vader chops Monsoon hard on the back. Monsoon stands up and hits three hard chops to Vader’s chest! Vader shoves Cornette away and hits a huge splash on Monsoon in the corner! Vader Bomb on Monsoon, and HBK/Razor hit the ring as Vader escapes. Vader goes over and gets in McMahon’s face, and officers/HBK/Razor are out checking on Monsoon. AWESOME ANGLE. Talk about getting Vader over in a MAJOR way.

Vader_gorillamonsoon2

-Why’d they write Vader off TV so quickly after his debut? That just seems like a strange choice. Real reason?

vaderbombmonsoon

-Back from commercial as Monsoon is being stretchered out.

-Hunter Hearst Helmsley to the ring, with an escort for the first time – this one is Shae Marks, who is a former Playboy model. That tidbit wasn’t mentioned on RAW. Hunter’s facing Razor Ramon.

hhh-shae

-1-2-3 Kid brings a baby bottle to ringside and squirts Razor in the face. Not sure what the point of that is..

123kidwater

-But Razor gives chase to Kid around the ring. Hunter wins via countout, and Razor comes back in to give the fans the Razor’s Edge, but HHH flips out of it.

-McMahon brings down Shawn Michaels for an interview. Michaels calls out Owen Hart to give him payback for having Owen running his mouth saying he took HBK out. Cornette comes out, says Owen is done with HBK. HBK says he’ll do anything to get his hands on Owen Hart…Cornette says put the title shot up against Owen, and they can talk business. HBK balks at first but then agrees.

upnexthartdust

-Goldust to the ring, and they reveal that Marlena…is named Marlena. Man…I REALLY had a thing for Marlena/Terri around this time. BIG TIME.

goldustintroduces

-Diesel against Bret Hart for the WWF Title at the next IYH, on 2.18.96.

-Bret Hart wins. Vince gets in the ring and screams “let’s talk about” and follows that with about 7 different statements.

nitro-fire

WCW Monday Nitro – 1.22.96

nitroannounce

-Konnan interrupts the announcers, and says it’s good to be in WCW, and that he’ll defend the Mexican Heavyweight Championship at COTC tomorrow night against Psichosis. So ECW loses another.

-Randy Savage brings a bunch of women to the ring…including WOMAN. So, geez, there’s another person who leaves. Did these people leave without any notice at all or what?

-Looks like we’re opening Nitro with the WCW World Heavyweight Title match…obviously Woman’s going to turn on Savage here.

savage-flair

-Bischoff reveals that Miss Elizabeth returns to Savage’s side tomorrow night. Yay for that!

-Woman slaps Flair.

womanslapsflair

-Remember when I asked where Road Warrior Animal was? He’s back tomorrow as well. Holy talent acquisition WCW. Wow.

savage-flair-ropebreak

-Hulk Hogan faces WCW U.S. Champion “One Man Gang” later on. Two questions – who the hell is that, and when did he beat Susake for the title?

-This is why nobody holds a candle to JR, and why WCW is annoying…this is a WCW World Title match, and all they’ve done is hype the rest of Nitro and the Clash.

-Anderson interferes, but accidentally clocks Flair…the ref SEES IT HAPPEN AND DOESN’T DISQUALIFY SAVAGE, Savage drops the elbow and regains the WCW World Title. Um…what?

hogan-macho-man-world-title

-Here comes Hogan bitching about wanting a title shot again. Savage tells him to earn it.

hogan-savage-meangene

-Pillman against Malenko. Pillman wins. I’m barely paying attention here.

malenko-pillman

-Harlem Heat against Sting and Lex Luger. REALLY stupid question – are Stevie Ray and Booker T actually brothers?

sting-stevieray

-Sherri and Col. Parker get married tomorrow too. WHO CARES

harlemheat-stingluger

-Sting and Luger win after Luger cheats, and win the WCW World Tag Team Titles. Yay.

harlemsidekickonsting

-Apparently this One Man Gang dude is yet another member of the Dungeon of Doom. He looks pretty worthless.

hoganomg

-Hogan squashes him. Way to build up your US Champ! DOD follows with a beatdown. Yawn.

ECWOld

ECW – 1.23.96

-STILL showing footage from House Party, as the show leads off with RVD’s debut.

rvd-debut2

-Raven and Stevie Richards face Tommy Dreamer and a mystery partner Saturday in NYC. Presumably they’ll show this
next week on ECW since it’s not a supercard.

-Hack Myers and Taz from House Party.

taz-vs-hack-myers

-Sabu/Richards from House Party. Styles recaps Sandman pinning Austin to regain the ECW World Title, “a title that cannot be bought for a million dollars”.

sabu-vs-stevie-richards-ecw-house-party-1996

-Sandman against Konnan from House Party.

sandman-champ

-Dreamer doing a promo at the end of the show, and Douglas comes in. He says he couldn’t get “that fat ass Cactus Jack” in the ring, so he’ll go one step further, to his mentor Raven, and be Dreamer’s partner – with the stipulation that the first to win a title between Dreamer and Douglas gives the other one a shot. Dreamer agrees. LOVE Shane Douglas promos.

It's been a few weeks since I've hit you up with one of my patented "Top Thirteen" countdowns. I figured the best way to make a memorable return would be with a "baker's dozen" of barely recognizable names. The WWE has had its fair share of enhancement talent, all of whom are given ridiculous gimmicks and shallow backstories—that's not what we're talking about. We are talking about thirteen professional wrestlers that the WWE tried to push, but gave up on for whatever reason. My name is Mark Adam Haggerty and this is "13 WWE Superstars that Nobody Remembers."

2. Phantasio
Phantasio
Isn't it strange how Sting got over big with "Crow" fans, but Phantasio didn't? Not only did he debut even closer to the film's release, but he was a MAGICIAN! Magic was HUGE in the mid-90s! Here's the thing about Phantasio—he only wrestled one televised match. That's it! That might be the shortest recognized career in WWE history. There've been jobbers, but Harry Del Rios created this character with the intent to succeed on the grandest stage of them all. In addition to one house show appearance, Phantasio remains UNDEFEATED in WWE.

3. Bam Neely
Bam Neely
Bam Neely debuted for the WWE's ECW Brand in the Spring of 2008, and quickly ascended to the top of the card—so to speak. He was aligned with the ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero and—by association—the World Champion Edge. He was billed as a former bodyguard, brought to protect Chavo Guerrero from the monstrous Kane. Bam only lasted about a year on the main roster, and was released from the company within the first ten days of 2009.

4. Mystery Man
Mystery Man
This guy was played by Brutus the Barber Beefcake, so that kind of disqualifies him from contention on my list. But it's my list, and if I want to cop-out to include an honorable mention, then that's what I'll do! Mystery Man—what can be said about Mystery Man? First off, this was not his only outfit. And he never wrestled a single match! Brutus Beefcake was injured in a parasailing accident which left his face "disfigured," according to reports. So the Barber was out, and the Mystery Man was in! His name wasn't even MYSTERY MAN —he just didn't have a name! He ran into the ring during matches, attacked the heel, and left. But by the time the Barber Shop segment debuted, the Mystery Man was no more!

5. Ryan Braddock
Ryan Braddock
Ryan Braddock debuted for the WWE on its short-lived ECW brand, and made a home for himself on Smackdown for the little while he existed within the WWE Universe. His first several matches were legit squashes—so as to affirm the demeanor of the 6'4 Chicago Native. Within a matter of weeks however, Braddock was being used as a plot device in other major—and minor—storylines. Braddock's most famous moment while under contract was during the "Jesse and Festus are repo-men" days; Braddock was hogtied with sheets of cellophane and prepared to be sent first class by the future Luke Gallows. Braddock spent a total of four years working for the WWE, on both the main roster and down in developmental, and was finally cut in the Spring of 2009.

6. Alex Porteau
"The Pug" Alex Porteau
A great deal of the names we're mentioning are from either the early days of "Sports Entertainment," or the highly forgettable "New Superstar Initiative." Alex Porteau stands apart from the rest as an "Attitude Era" athlete. The Pug—as he would come to be known—debuted for the WWE in 1994, but became a regular fixture on the roster by the tail end of 1996. He achieved moderate success over several opponents, and even entered the arena to the same song as the Steiners—the Michigan Fight Song. By early 1997 however, it became clear the white meat amateur wrestler wasn't living up to expectations. Alex Porteau was released in 1997 before any sort of real "boom" affected the industry.

7. Eric Escobar
Eric Escobar
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think Eric Escobar is the most recent Unrecognizable wrestler on this list, right? Escobar—for those that might not recall—was a Puerto Rican professional wrestler who arrived on the scene alongside Vickie Guerrero. Vickie had since done away with Dolph Ziggler, Edge, and the rest of her short term flings. Escobar was sent down to WWE Developmental as early as 2005, but didn't make his main roster debut until 2009, when he was cast as Vickie's lover. Escobar appeared as Guerrero's arm-candy for quite a while, until writers decided to turn him babyface. Once he turned on Vickie, he was forced into a number of handicap matches against the likes of the Hart Dynasty and "Jeri-Show." Escobar's last match was against Kane on December 18, 2009.

8. Sylvester Terkay
Sylvester Terkay
I'm 100000% certain that Sylvester Terkay was supposed to be a star. He debuted on the ECW brand before the infamous "New Superstar Initiative," as a world-renowned fighter with Elijah Burke in his corner. Both men wore black track suits with a random color scheme embedded on their shoulders, which sort of looked like the German flag. Both Terkay and Burke are American of course; Terkay was a Division 1 amateur wrestler, who went toe-to-toe with Kurt Angle during his amateur days. Terkay's biggest match was a winning tag team effort alongside Elijah against the F.B.I., at December to Dismember . Terkay would appear a few more times, as Elijah's enforcer, but was soon released from his contract in January 2007.

9. Key
Key
For those that might not remember Droz —he was the third member of the Legion of Doom. A former NFL player that could make himself regurgitate on command, Droz was positioned as a key focal point—no pun intended—and was thus outfitted with his own stable of cronies. His most memorable partner was without a doubt Prince Albert AKA A-Train, AKA Giant Bernard, AKA Lord Tensai, AKA Jason Albert. But who remembers the third component to their crew—a guy named KEY. Key was of course played by hardcore wrestler, and former ECW Original, Vic Grimes. Key was unlike anyone else in the WWE at the time; his athletic ability was questionable, and his character lacked any kind of depth. The only thing anyone knew about Key, is that he was supposed to be some kind of drug dealer. It came as no surprise when Key disappeared from television soon after he was introduced.

10. Just Joe
Just Joe
There's always been an inordinate amount of backstage hijinks in the WWE. If you watch any other promotion—even WCW— you won't see nearly as much locker room exposition. Given the WWE's penchant for unnecessary storytelling, it was only a matter of time until a character developed. Just Joe was the coffee guy at WWE events, and frequently began appearing in segments with other Superstars. The Undertaker would be arguing about the world title with Steve Austin, or the Hardyz would have a bone to pick with Edge and Christian—Just Joe was always there. He eventually made his debut as an in ring competitor, wearing something similar to what you might see Santino in. After just over a year on the main roster, Just Joe was released in March of 2001. Side note: If you do a Wiki search on this dude, he looks like an old haggard version of Adam Cole.

11. Gunner Scott
Gunner Scott
The "New Superstar Initiative" was an excuse for Smackdown and ECW to introduce a litany of unknowns during the span of just a few months. Some Superstars used their time on TV as a vehicle to get over, whereas others—like Gunner Scott—were left stranded somewhere in the rearview. Not much to say about this guy. He was without question the most unimpressive person on this list, and I don’t wish to offer him any more publicity than that.

12. Dan Rodman
Dan Rodman
This is the only person of the countdown that I don't remember. Seriously. The majority of these guys are memorable enough if you really think back, but Dan Rodman? Who the fuck is Dan Rodman? Rodman was one of the finalists on Tough Enugh Season 4, the competition that Daniel Puder won, and made his main roster debut in 2007. Though his time on television was incredibly short lived, the 6'7 300-pounder did find himself in direct competition with then-WWE Champion, John Cena. Rodman was eventually released from his contract in August of 2007, and has not been heard from since.

13. Palmer Cannon
Palmer Cannon
Back during the dying days of ECW, Paul Heyman introduced a character named "Cyrus," played by former WWE talent Don Callis. Cyrus was a network executive, and served as the on-screen patsy for everything that went wrong on the short-lived TNN broadcast. Years later, the WWE introduced a network executive of their own. His name was Palmer Cannon who—aside from a few backstage segments with Teddy Long—experienced an exceptionally short run. Palmer was instrumental in bringing the Boogeyman to television, , he was the figurehead behind the expulsion of Muhammad Hassan, and played an integral role in Smackdown's success at the Survivor Series in 2005. Rumors began to run rampant regarding the reason Cannon—AKA Brian Mailhot—quick the company. Word has it that Palmer Cannon was not enamored with the hazing he received courtesy of JBL, and subsequently resigned. Palmer Cannon might be the only name on this list to leave the company voluntarily.

14. Ricky Ortiz
Ricky Ortiz
John Cena's gimmick in 2015 is that he brings a towel to the ring. As much as I want to replace all of my washcloths with "Cenation" paraphernalia, we cannot ignore the original rally towel—introduced by Ricky Ortiz. Imagine what the offspring of Carlito and Chuck Palumbo might look like, and you've got an earnest idea of what Ricky Ortiz was all about. He was initially introduced as part of ECW and Smackdown's "New Superstar Initiative," and was immediately catapulted to the top of the card. Prior to his wrestling career, Ortiz was an American football player, and even competed for the short-lived XFL as part of the Orlando Rage. After debuting on the main roster, Ortiz enjoyed a winning streak that was eventually broken during an 8-man tag match. Ricky Ortiz was eventually released from his contract on August 8, 2009—just about eleven months removed from his debut.

Welcome one and all to another “Lucky Thirteen” countdown exclusively available at Cheap-Heat.com ! My name is Mark Adam Haggerty and today we’re talking about pro wrestling video games! As I started compiling my list of the greatest wrestling games ever, I thought: “I bet a list of the worst games would be far more fun.” So that’s what I’ve done! Now before you start calling me out on burying your favorite game, allow me a chance to explain myself. I ordered this Top 13 list based upon Metacritic and IGN reviews, as well as my own personal experiences. I’m happy to say I played all of these games at some point, and although this is a list of the worst games of all time, I still have fond memories of them all.

2. In Your House
Honorable Mention: A lot of people really hated WWF In Your House, but truth be told, that was among my favorite games as a kid. Not just wrestling games either—ALL GAMES! It went Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Mario, In Your House, and Star Fox. One of these things are not like the other—STAR FOX. Another unpopular title was the second installment in the Smackdown vs. Raw series, released for 2006. Once again, despite the terrible Amazon and Metacritic reviews, SD vs. Raw ’06 is another one of my favorite games ever. Now that I’m done defending two personal [guilty] pleasures, let’s kick this list off with number thirteen!

3. Steel Cage
13. WWF Steel Cage Challenge
Released:В September 1992
Metacritic Rating:В 69/100 (Sega)
Pros:В This marked the first time a В steel cage could be seen in a WWE-licensed game. That’s about it.
Cons: This was one of the most frustrating wrestling games in history. Steel Cage Challenge forced players into a “button smashing frenzy” that resulted in kicks and punches. The cage—while a nifty concept—diminished any and all replay value. Maybe TNA Lockdown should take a cue from “WWF Steel Cage Challenge.” People don’t want to see that many cage matches, let alone play them.

4. TNA Impact
12. TNA Impact!
Released:В September 9, 2008
Metacritic Rating:В 64/100 (PS3)
Pros:В This game featured some of the most lifelike graphics to ever appear within a wrestling game. There were also a plethora of gimmick arenas, such as those found in Japan and Europe, as well as an outdoor venue in Mexico.
Cons:В The control scheme was a little flimsy, but not to the point where it was unplayable. Applying finishers and securing pin falls are among the most frustrating aspects of the game. And while the idea of working an Ultimate X match is a cool concept, the gimmick matches in TNA Impact were dreadfully repetitive.

5. Thunder
11. WCW Thunder
Released:В December 31, 1998В
Metacritic Rating:В 62/100 (PS2)
Pros:В WCW and WWE were both producing incredible video games for the Nintendo 64, but very few titles crossed over to the PlayStation. Thunder was a PlayStation exclusive and was built on the same engine as the previous PlayStation flop, “WCW Nitro.” This led to a rerelease of Nitro later that year, with the inclusion of the entire Smackdown roster.
Cons:В Like many post-AKI WCW games, Thunder suffered from a slow and uninteresting control scheme. Players were forced to memorize individual move sets, although most matches lasted less than 60-seconds due to the shoddy AI and complex pin system.

6. Mayhem
10. WCW Mayhem
Released:В August 31, 1999
Metacritic Rating:В 60/100 (PS)
Pros: WCW Mayhem gave fans the chance to take the action from the ring to the backstage area, almost seamlessly, for the first time ever. In addition to a larger field on which to play, WCW Mayhem introduced a passcode system which—upon proper completion—allowed players to play the recent and/or upcoming pay per view matches.
Cons:В Mayhem was a decent enough standalone game, but when compared to previous WCW titles, couldn’t stack up. The game play was overly complicated, and the animated power moves made for a glitchy experience that I’m not keen to relive.

7. Mania 21
9. WWE Wrestlemania 21
Released:В April 20, 2005
Metacritic Rating:В 56/100В (X-Box)
Pros:В The WWE released a Wrestlemania title every year from 2002’s Wrestlemania X8 to this specific title released in 2005. This was the final WWE game released on the original X-Box and was a direct follow up to Raw 2.
Cons:В The Wrestlemania games were never very good, and existed at the same time as the PlayStation exclusive Smackdown series. The controls were easy enough to figure out, but glitches and inconsistencies made almost every match lose at least some of its luster.

8. Crush Hour
8. WWE Crush Hour
Released:В March 17, 2003
Metacritic Rating:В 56/100В (PS2)
Pros:В None
Cons:В That it was ever made.

9. Legends
7. Legends of Wrestling: Showdown
Released:В June 22, 2004
Metacritic Rating:В 55/100 (PS2)
Pros:В The Legends of Wrestling is without question the most successful third party wrestling game ever produced. Former WWE and NWA legends adorned the cover, and players were afforded the chance to play as wrestling greats such as Bret Hart, Hulk Hogan, and even the Ultimate Warrior.
Cons:В While the overall series was a financial success, it created a divide between certain performers and larger companies like the WWE and TNA. This final installment was the worst of the trilogy, and contained impossible-to-master move sets.

10. Betrayal
6. WWF Betrayal
Released:В August 7, 2001
Metacritic Rating:В 50/100В (GBC)
Pros: WWF Betrayal was another wrestling game that lacked in—wrestling. Instead what we got was a side scrolling adventure wherein the player is searching for a recently kidnapped Stephanie McMahon.
Cons: The game was compared to Double Dragon and similar platform titles, but failed to live up to their replay value. Players could only play as four one of WWE Superstars—The Rock, Steve Austin, the Undertaker or Triple H.

11. 2K15
5. WWE 2K15
Released: October 28, 2014
Metacritic Rating:В 50/100В (X -Box 360)
Pros:В The new generation of wrestling games are far more inviting to creative minds such as yours truly. Never before have fans been able to create, download and share their original works in such a fluid way. Not only is the creative suite revolutionary, but the roster of wrestlers is one of the strongest to ever be included in a standard WWE game.
Cons: This was the most recent game released by WWE, and is just another pothole along a path of promises that never come to fruition. The developers behind the 2K’ Series promised to fix simple errors from previous games, but didn’t. Not only did they not fix the problems plaguing 2K14, they further complicated things by including superfluous scenarios that nobody wants to play.

12. Backyard Wrestling
4. Backyard Wrestling 2: There Goes the Neighborhood
Released:В November 16, 2004
Metacritic Rating:В 46/100 (PS2)
Pros: There were a ton of otherwise unknown performers at the player's disposal, including a roster comprised of The Insane Clown Posse, Vic Grimes, New Jack, and even a young Sonjay Dutt.
Cons: The creators of Backyard Wrestling 2' promised a revamped engine complete with a far more manageable way to play the game. Unfortunately there were no such changes and "Backyard Wrestling 2: There Goes the Neighborhood" was just as clumsy as the original.

13. Anarchy Rulz
3. ECW Anarchy Rulz
Released:В August 8, 2000
Metacritic Rating:В 43/100 (PS)
Pros:В If you were a fan of WWF Warzone or Attitude, you’ll be pleased to know that this engine is exactly the same. The graphics were revolutionary for the turn of the century, despite not holding up in 2015. The game also introduced the mainstream audience to ECW Originals like Rob Van Dam, the Sandman, Rhino, and Tommy Dreamer.
Cons:В If you were a fan of WWF Warzone or Attitude, you’ll be annoyed because this engine is exactly the same. The graphics were revolutionary for the turn of the century, but not so much in 2015. The game also introduced the mainstream audience to ECW wrestlers like Justin Credible, Dawn Marie, Little Guido and Tommy Dreamer.

14. Superbrawl
2. WCW Superbrawl
Released:В November 1994
Metacritic Rating:В 42/100В (PS2)
Pros: This was an interesting game that worked in direct opposition to WWE’s Raw and Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game. Superbrawl featured a who’s who of WCW talent, and included real sound bites—an outstanding feat for 1994
Cons:В The controls were confusing, but not nearly as confusing as the action on the TV screen. The graphics were below-par, even by mid-nineties standards, and the ring was situated on an angle so the player had a birds eye view throughout the course of the contest.

15. Backstage Assault
1. WCW Backstage Assault
Released:В November 2003
Metacritic Rating:В 40/100 (PS)
Pros: I had always dreamed about going backstage in a wrestling game, and using all of the necessary tools of the trade to defeat my opponent. So in that respect, this game improved upon the previous model presented by Mayhem.
Cons: Unlike WCW Mayhem, Backstage Assault only featured singles matches, which made it hard for more than 2 people to enjoy the game at once. Furthermore—there was no ring! All of the action took place BACKSTAGE. Hence the clever title.

Did you guys know that Limp Bizkit is the WWE's favorite band in the WHOLE world? And that "Crack Addict" is amongst their favorite songs? Well maybe not so much anymore. My, how the times have changed! My name is Mark Adam Haggerty and I spent the morning surfing, the afternoon writing, and the evening watching Wrestlemania XIX. Now it's on to Thursday Night Smackdown, so I've got all sorts of lines crossed and ideas floating around inside my cerebral cortex. I haven't had a chance to watch the show as of this writing, so we will be discovering the most exciting and least entertaining moments of the night together. You've checked into Cheap-Heat.com, and this is "What's Cookin' and What Doesn't Matter: Your Smackdown Breakdown."

SEGMENTS IN BOLD ARE COOKING! SEGMENTS IN ITALICS DON'T MATTER!

Dean and Belt
The show opens with the "Lunatic Fringe" Dean Ambrose en route to the ring from the rafters. He's heading down through the crowd, still in possession of Seth Rollins' WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Dean is rocking a whole bunch of Mardi Gras beads from his time down on Bourbon Street this past Monday Night. Dean cuts a hell of a promo, promising to walk out of this weekend's Money in the Bank as the undisputed heavyweight champion. Seth Rollins crashes the party and tells Ambrose that he's no different than the "scum inside the arena and not in [Seth's] league." Seth warns Dean to give him his title back before he takes it from him. Dean tells Seth to relax and suggests he should "take a chill pill." Dean leaves the belt in the middle of the ring and invites Seth to take it, but not before admitting that it isn't the real world heavyweight title belt. Seth asks where it is, and Dean says it's somewhere between where they are now and New Orleans, but assures everybody that he will in fact find it before Money in the Bank. Dean escapes and Seth calls after him that he's "not done with him yet," but the "Big Red Machine" arrives, and quickly alerts the champion that he is in fact done with Dean. "Last week on Raw you had the opportunity to choose any opponent that you wanted," Kane began, "And you failed! If that happens Sunday then you lose the WWE World Heavyweight title. You won't have any help from the Authority, you'll truly be on your own. Just like you'll be on your own tonight against a Money in the Bank ladder match participant—Dolph Ziggler!"

Miz and Ryback
We head into our first commercial of the night and when we return it's time for one-on-one competition. The Miz is squaring off against "The Big Guy," the current intercontinental champion, Ryback. This match is the result of weeks' worth of animosity between Ryback and Miz, as well as Big Show and Ryback—and Miz. This is a fun match where the Miz has more than a handful of chances to prove what kind of competitor he has the ability to be. All too often people get down on the man born Michael Mizanin, but why? Because he was on a few MTV programs prior to arriving in the WWE Universe? He's been under contract for ten years. He's a former WWE Champion. He beat John Cena at Wrestlemania! What more do you want? The Miz is today's Ted DiBiase; he's a true heel with no redeeming qualities. And that includes no flashy moves to make audiences stop and say "wow." His encounter with the "Big Guy" is interesting because it involves quite a bit of offense from the "A-Lister." The Miz enjoys an outward advantage, and locks-in the Figure Four, only to find himself far too close for comfort with Ryback. Ryback fights back and teeters on the edge of victory before being hit with the "Skull Crushing Finale." Ryback kicks out at two, and the Miz continues his assault, mocking Ryback all the while. Ryback hits the Miz with "Shell Shock," and immediately scores a pinfall. Can Ryback do that again this Sunday against the Big Show? We will find out—and then we'll talk about it on the B+ Players Podcast! Following the bell, the Big Show made his way onto the stage. He informed Ryback that while he wishes he could say he was impressed, nothing impresses him anymore. After 20 years of being a giant, there's nothing that surprises him, and there's no one that can match up to the Big Show. Ryback then told Show "not to sing it," but to "bring it." The Louisiana fans went wild as Big Show got closer to the ring, but booed when the "Giant" backed away and up the ramp.

R Truth and Barrett
Jack Swagger is on Smackdown! And tonight he's set to compete with the 2015 King of the Ring, Bad News Barrett. R Truth is sitting at commentary alongside Jerry Lawler, Byron Saxton, and Tom Phillips, scouting his competition for this Sunday's Money in the Bank pay-per-view. I mean "Special Event." I mean "Special Event Kick Off Show." Whatever it is, that's when R Truth will battle King Barrett. This match doesn't last more than a few moments, and quickly degenerates to nothing as Truth begins to dress in Barrett's Kingly cloak at ringside. This distracts Barrett, but not long enough to cost him the match. Barrett picks up the victory, and the edge over the trouble Truth, as he prepares to defeat the former NWA World Champion this Sunday.

We get a glimpse of a WWE.com exclusive interview with Lana, conducting by the Voice of the WWE, Michael Cole. Lana brags about a whole bunch of things that girls only truly care about during the first few months of a relationship. She tells Michael Cole that her and Dolph "read books together, and then they talk about them." Who does that? That's an antiquated form of intimacy that only really exists in micro-pockets of hipster society. Moving on—this segment is COOKIN', believe it or not, especially when Rusev appears on crutches, humbling asking Lana not to go with Ziggler. "He's been with many other women," is a sentence I'm choosing to paraphrase. Here's a direct quote: "Submit yourself to me and no one else." Does anyone else think Rusev might just be having trouble with translations? I mean, right? What's that old saying? Make a misogynistic comment once, shame on me. Make a misogynistic comment twice—well then it's not me, it's you." Lana looked at Rusev and alerted him that it's over. Rusev screamed and yelled at Michael Cole and told him that it was his fault, before chasing him out. Let me ask you—how is this a WWE.com Exclusive if I'm watching it on Smackdown?

ZIGGROLL
Dolph Ziggler is set for action against the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins. Rollins makes his way down to ringside by himself—sans the world title belt, as well as his former Security Detail. Things kick off with an exchange of mat-based grapples—including hammer and headlocks—and quickly evolve to a faster pace. Watching Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins compete is akin to what it was like to view the "Heartbreak Kid" go head-to-head with the "Hitman" before either man ever reached superstardom. Things head to the outside and Seth Rollins sends Dolph Ziggler spiraling into the time keepers desk, where he remains until he regains his composure. When we return, things are heating up, and regardless of who might be in command, it's still anyone's ball game. Seth hits a slew of signature spots, and despite his own attractive blend of maneuvers, Dolph was unable to outperform the world champion. Seth rolled Dolph up with a handful of tights to gain the advantage and earn the victory over a former "world champion." This match crossed a number of commercial breaks, and featured two of the most exciting Superstars in the WWE. The back and forth was organic and not based on high spots and poor salesmanship. This has the potential to be my match of the week for WWE. To find out for sure, tune into the "Outsiders' Edge" at Cheap-Heat.com this Saturday, where I'll talk about it with Dario Rivera!

Diva Match
It's time for WWE Diva's competition! The number one contender to Nicki Bella's championship is squaring off against Edge and Vickie Guerrero's former wedding planner. Paige is wrestling Alicia Fox, when some asshole with a headset deems it necessary to compare the Bella's and Paige to "Celine Dion and Marilyn Manson." I don't even know what that means. The commentators don't talk about this match one bit until Paige finally puts the match away with the "Paige Tap Out." What a dumb name for a move. It's okay Paige, I know you didn't name that shit. Instead they talk about the Bella's and Total Diva's, and Celine Dion, and their choice of wardrobe. Jerry Lawler says some terribly outdated things, that not even Rusev would dare try and get away with. At one point, he said: "I love seeing the Diva's argue peacefully, but later on they'll do it physically, which I love even more." I would like it if Jerry Lawler said something like that about a male wrestler. Just once I'd like to see some shit pop off between Diego of Los Matadors and Adam Rose and Jerry Lawler says, "Ooo! I can't wait to see them be physical!" What a joke he has become.

There's a very cool theatrical vignette designed to sell this weekend's match between Kevin Owens and John Cena, followed by an awesome little promo by the Prime Time Players. Renee Young is about to ask Titus is the Players are prepared to challenge for the tag team titles this Sunday, and Titus cuts here off, assuring her that the Prime Time Players are in fact ready. Titus said that this was going to be the Player's "Coming Out Party." Darren Young joked that last summer was the "Coming Out Party," to which Titus replied, "No that was your coming out party, and you should be very proud." One of the rare acknowledgements to D-Young's sexuality on television, done in a tasteful and respectful manner. I like it.

Main Event Photo
Tonight's main event is a six-man tag team match featuring all of the combatants from this weekend's Money in the Bank ladder match, minus Dolph Ziggler. Not the ladder match for the world title, mind you. Because remember, there is a world title ladder match at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. During a time when there are three events in six weeks, they save the ladder match for the only show guaranteed to already have a fucking ladder match? Go home Vince, you're drunk. This match pits Sheamus, Kane, and Kofi Kinston against Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, and the "Man That Gravity Forgot" Neville. This is an enjoyable enough bout, but like any multi man match on a go-home show, it's terribly reverse-engineered and horribly predictable. While no one was able to fully trust their team mates, it was the team of babyfaces that made the short-lived alliance work in their favor. Randy hit the RKO, but the New Day made the save and caused the disqualification. Dolph Ziggler hit the ring to join the action, and Neville jumped from on top of the ladder in the ring onto his six opponents at Money in the Bank. Who do I think is winning the MITB ladder match? Read my "Educated Guess: Money in the Bank" available tomorrow at NOON PST at Cheap-Heat.com!

Greetings and Salutations Cheap-Heaters! Welcome to a debut column, of sorts. I've utilized the name in the past, and honestly? I'm guessing if I googled it I'd find all kinds of columns and blog posts and general what-nottery (We've been over this before… it is TOO a word!) – The general theme of this column would be to take a stance that flies in the face of common, or popular opinion. Opinions such as, but not limited to:

John Cena IS a good wrestler.

Sheamus' Beard Beads should become a fad! (I mean… c'mon what percentage of wrestling fans have beards? Its a no brainer fellas!) Who WOULDN'T want Jay Briscoe as the "Face of the Company", when you end up back on National TV?

Etcetera. Etcetera. Etcetera.

I call this the "Devil's Advocate". I decided to write this because with Money In the Bank a short eight days away? I was looking at the, now, seven men involved in the match? I realized there are really only three guys who I could see winning, and I might make a stretch of a fourth with Kane winning it as a bit of an "Insurance Policy" as Seth Rollins continues to outgrow his britches and thus can not be controlled by the Authority… but we'll save the in-depth breakdown and arm chair booking of all the possibilities Money in the Bank may have to you gamblers to the guy who writes the Over-Under. That dude is super swell!

I just want to look at ONE Money in the Bank competitor. The man I think SHOULD win. Hell he even DESERVES to win, but it makes sense a career standpoint. It makes sense from a storyline standpoint… or it will. I promise.

Your 2015 Money in the Bank Ladder Match winner SHOULD BE?!

(Awaits a drumroll… realizes can't hear said drumroll anyway…)

Kofi Pic 1
Whoa. I saw that eye roll Mr. Smark! Give me some benefit of the doubt.

WHO?!

Kofi Kingston debuted with the WWE's version of ECW in 2007. He burst in as a face with an amazing high flying arsenal. Crowds dug him. He quickly became one of the more popular guys in the WWE. His feud with Randy Orton was a high point for him on the card. He flirted with breaking into realm of Main Eventers. Crowds were buying in. He got some wins over Orton, but in the long run Orton came out on top and Kofi kind of got shuffled to the back. He's kind of been in the fascinating world of the "WWE Mid card" where they will build you up. You'll get some momentum, maybe even win a Championship (Kofi has won 11 championships in WWE, including 4 IC title reigns and 3 US title reigns) – but eventually things cool. The next mid card flavor of the month (In management's eyes) – gets his shot. His spots in both Ladder Matches as well as his amazing streak of Royal Rumble spots where he appears to be eliminated, but gives us a "holy shit" moment instead.

Kofi Walking on his Hands

or…

Kofi Rumble Leap

WHY?!

The condescending answer, would be… Why NOT? Money in the Bank could, should, and has been used to elevate people in the past. Sometimes with great success! See: Edge, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins. Sometimes with much less success! See: Damien Sandow. He's got everything the WWE wants. He'll be 34 in August, so he's still in his prime. He has demonstrated the ability to work both as a heel and a face. He cuts a good promo. And the biggest why ties also into my last section…

The New Day

HOW?!

If EVER you had a more tailor made scenario for an "Upset" in Money in the Bank? Kofi comes to the ladder match with an army at his back. Why WOULDN'T Big E and Xavier Woods help their brother in arms climb that ladder and get that briefcase? I fully expect to see E and X out there to help Kofi. I'm guessing they don't play a factor in the full finish of the match, but? THEY. SHOULD! If you have X and E as the Tag Team Champions. Kofi carrying that briefcase. You have a lot of possibilities. The threat of New Day together working to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is great. The hatred they could garner from the crowd by stealing the Briefcase? Would be wonderful. New Day is on FIRE right now. Crowds are really into everything they're doing. They are consistently one of the best parts of WWE Television. So much so they've started to mix it up with the Authority and Main Event scene. They get mic time. They have fantastic matches. It truly is a perfect time and place to be able to pull something like this off. WORST case scenario? It ends up like Sandow's Briefcase run ended. Which would be a shame, but could you imagine the potential teases and chaos that this trio could enact? How much dickbaggery and nonsense they could pull on a weekly basis? Also… I propose this because right NOW? Kofi is booked in a one on one match with Brock Lesnar in Japan on July 4th. This "Super Show" will be televised live on the WWE Network, which… is… AWESOME. If you want to capitalize on that type of attention and spotlight Kofi will have? To quote Zach De La Rocha:

"It has to start somewhere.
It has to start sometime.
What better place than here.
What better time than now?"

And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen of the Cheap-Heat Province. Kofi Kingston should be the 2015 Money in the Bank Ladder Match Winner. Capitalize on the crazy Momentum the New Day has. Throw us a curveball. The trio has their "Cheat to Win" game on point, and if you put the briefcase in their hands? I expect only awesome things.

This has been your Devil's Advocate. Follow me on the TWITTER by clicking HERE , and let me know why I'm brilliant (Or Looney Tunes) for suggesting such a thing. I'll see you soon.

During the late 90’s and into the year 2000, there was nothing I loved more than playing WWE Smackdown and listening to “The Slim Shady LP” or “The Marshall Mathers LP”. I’d get a rush and take out a lot of frustration and angst during those nights home from school.

As a professional wrestling fan, WWE in particular, “WWE Smackdown” and other incarnations of the games were video games we waited all year for to play. “Who’s going to be in it?” “What will the story mode be like?” “Will they get rid of those damn camera flashes during a Special/Finishing Move?” These were the questions that young fans asked about the game. However, the side of me that lived in a broken home and was picked on throughout Middle School, that side of me loved Eminem.

Throughout his career, Eminem a.k.a. Marshall Mathers, has been controversial (putting it mildly) commenting on American society, social and economic classes, racism, sexism, misogynistic views, even some masochistic beliefs just to name a few all through his music. Over time and after some demons that he needed to rid himself of in his personal life, Eminem’s music has actually taken a turn and become less offensive and less controversial which actually has made him BETTER.

Taking a walk down memory lane, I decided to compile a list of songs from Eminem that can actually be compared to WWE Superstars, both past and present. The criteria isn’t just song content, it can be as simple as a title that stuck out or it can contain both. This article may draw the ire of many fans, so I apologize in advance. I am a firm believer in the good that these men and women have done in their professional lives and I appreciate the art in which they create for all of the WWE Universe: Past, Present and Future.

1 BENOIT
“Kim” – Chris Benoit
Lets get this one out of the way now, shall we? Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last 10 years, you know that former WWE Superstar Chris Benoit, killed his wife and son. No one knows why, however, some believe that because of his dependency on pain killers and other substances this may be what pushed Benoit over the edge. The song Kim is the fictional account of what it would be like if Eminem killed his real-life wife, Kim Mathers.

mojfdg

“You’re Never Over” – Mojo Rawley

“You’re Never Over” is actually a memorial of sorts to Eminem’s best friend, Proof, who was shot and killed. Some say that this is where Marshall Mathers lost control of his personal life. The term “over” in pro wrestling is one that means your character is relevant and you are someone that fans will actually pay money to see. It means that you’re a draw. Mojo Rawley is not a draw. Not now. Not ever.

Kane%20Pyro
“On Fire” – Kane
This was used just for the title, as WWE Superstar Kane, was “kayfabe” burned alive by his brother, The Undertaker (accidentally).

Click here to view the embedded video.

“Not Afraid” – John Cena
Many of Eminem’s songs about standing up against adversity can be applied to John Cena. Cena has been the most polarizing WWE Superstar for over 10 years. However, Cena still puts on great matches, still makes many Make A Wish visits and is still the company man and flag bearer for WWE. He never backs down from a challenge and always rises to the occasion.

tumblr_ne7265FpIS1tjmdfno1_500
“White America” – Michael Hayes
“White America” is a song that bashes the media. Eminem is pointing out that he is blamed for a lot of what’s wrong with American society and that if a parent blames him for their children acting up, he points the finger back at them for not taking responsibility for their own kids. Michael Hayes has been ridiculed for using the “N-word” backstage at a WWE live event to Mark Henry in some capacity, which drew the anger of many people. When referencing the WWE booking team as “racists”, Michael Hayes is often talked about.

HeymanONS
“Love The Way You Lie” – Paul Heyman
Paul Heyman has been bashed and even lauded as one of the best promoters and bookers in professional wresting history. In his eyes, “The best bookers sometimes need to lie in order to get the very best from their talent.”

cena-lesnar-face-6
“Rap God” – Brock Lesnar
Rap God is 6 minutes and 3 seconds of Eminem proving that he is an absolute monster and one of the best, if not the absolute best rapper in hip-hop music. Sound like anyone familiar?

neville-arrow1-e1427766934572
“Lose Yourself” – Adrian Neville
Lose Yourself is one of the more popular Eminem songs from the “8 Mile” movie soundtrack. It’s basically about a young man who is getting “the opportunity of a lifetime” to prove and show everyone what he can do. Adrian Neville is a WWE Superstar who recently made his main roster debut from NXT and absolutely killed it.

Shawn-Michaels-WWE-665x385
“Purple Pills” – Shawn Michaels
Purple Pills could actually be given to HBK or Scott Hall due to their use of drugs througout their lives and careers. Both men have made remarkable changes to their lives and have become professional as well as personally successful. But this song had to make this list, so here it is.

Click here to view the embedded video.

“Just Don’t Give a Fuck” – Randy Orton
Early on in Randy Orton’s career, he had many run-ins with WWE management as well as WWE Talent. Everything from Wellness Policy infractions to defecating in the purses of WWE Divas. Randy Orton is not the first to ever do these things, however, when you’re handpicked and your family is as famous and respected as are the Ortons’, then maybe you should care a bit more. Randy has for a long time changed things for himself and is one of the leaders of the WWE locker room.

r turtr
“Talkin’ 2 Myself” – R-Truth
For awhile, R-Truth spoke to an imaginary child named “Lil’ Jimmy”, who was supposed to be a reference to all the children who love and support John Cena. That is all.

chyna,jpg
“Going Through Changes” – Chyna
First she was the bodyguard of Triple H and later Shawn Michaels. She then received breast implants and became a member of the legendary wrestling faction, Degeneration X. After she parted ways with the group, she became the first and only female WWE Intercontinental Champion as well as the first female participant in the Royal Rumble. Then, she became strung out on drugs and started a career in the porn industry. One thing I can say about Chyna or Joanie Laurer, is that she certainly has gone through some changes.

sunny
“Seduction” – Sunny
I picked this one because Sunny, or Tammy Sych, was known for her bubbly personality but also her good looks. Unfortunately, her life has spiraled out of control due to heavy drug use. Sytch has been rumored to have engaged in affairs with Shawn Michaels, The British Bulldog, Raven, Sabu among others while engaged to Pro Wrestler Chris Candido.

cameron-vs-aksana
“So Bad” – Cameron
She sucks. So bad. Get it?

Click here to view the embedded video.

“Bad Guy” – Scott Hall
Scott Hall appeared in the WWF as Razor Ramon for many years. “The Bad Guy” was a former four time WWF Intercontinental Champion.

Lanny-Poffo
“Rhyme or Reason” – Lanny Poffo
“The Genius” Lanny Poffo has always been very gifted in the ring, but he is also a very talented poet. Rhyme or Reason is a song title that just fit this talent.

tumblr_n8u1661R3p1s19meao1_500
“Asshole” – CM Punk
This one is as obvious as it gets.

Eugene-WWE-Superstar-4_display_image_crop_650
“Brain Damage” – Eugene
Eugene was one of the many lovable characters of WWE past as he always seemed a bit slower than most, but still very entertaining.

Bray-Wyatt-Luke-Harper-Erick-Rowan-Wyatt-Family-WWE
“W.T.P.” – The Wyatts
The characters of the Wyatt family is that of “White Trash Hillbillies” that are a part of a cult. This song explains what I feel a good time may be like for these guys.

24_rvdimg_3401
“Under The Influence” – Rob Van Dam
Rob Van Dam was the first WWE Superstar to hold both the ECW and WWE Championship simultaneously. That is until he was arrested for driving “Under the Influence” of marijuana with real life best friend and former WWE Superstar, Sabu. WWE had him lose both titles in two shows and then he was shortly after suspended.

rick-flair-strutting-3-4-13
“Bitch Please II” – Ric Flair
This one is one of the harder to understand as Ric Flair is known as the “Limousine Ridin’, Jet Flyin, Kiss Stealin’, Wheelin’ Dealin’ Son of a gun! However, it seems every time you bat an eyelash, Ric Flair is getting a divorce. Poor Ric, some women don’t understand what it takes to be the “Nature Boy”.

maxresdefault
“Remember Me?” – Rhyno
Rhyno has recently returned to WWE by way of NXT for almost a revitalization of his career or a way to put newer talent over.

mn
“Say Goodbye Hollywood” – The Miz
The Miz’s character has been one that has become almost obsessed with Hollywood after completing the latest “Marine” sequel. This was a direct to dvd film, so I don’t know how many times a week “Hollywood” is calling him. Time to give up the dream, friend. Time to say “Goodbye to Hollywood”.

It feels as though I was just writing a predication piece for "Extreme Rules," and yet here we are again for another WWE Network Special . And if that's not crazy enough, take a look at this schedule: this weekend is PAYBACK , followed two weeks later by ELIMINATION CHAMBER , and MONEY IN THE BANK exactly two weeks after that! We've got THREE pay-per-views set within six weeks of one another, and unfortunately, Payback is the least intriguing of the lot. The Chamber will feature the first-ever tag team elimination match inside the "Devil's Playground," while MITB will crown the next heir apparent to the WWE title. But Payback?

I like to write my predictions by mid-week and the WWE is still adding to the event as of this posting. Just now I got word that Bray Wyatt will be taking on Ryback, bringing the total number of matches on the card to SEVEN. There's certainly the chance that we might see a Diva's match of some kind, perhaps a tag team bout between the Bella's and Naomi and Tamina. As for the matches that have officially been announced…

2. Kick Off

The Payback Kick-Off
Macho Mandow & Axelmania vs. The Ascension

The Kick-Off matches have been particularly exciting in recent months; the tag team title match and battle royal at Wrestlemania, King Barrett versus Neville at Extreme Rules—this tag team contest will open the show and will set the precedent for what's to come. I don't know what to make of the "Macho Mandow and Axelmania" shtick. I really enjoyed Curtis Axel's delusional tirades about "never being eliminated from the Royal Rumble," and I've at least chuckled at his subsequent attempts at making "Axelmania Run Wild." I think Curtis Axel is doing a fine job, and I hope that when this program has run its course, he's able to rebound to a more reasonable place on the roster. When Damian Sandow ceased to be the Miz's stunt-double, I think we all hoped to see a more serious side of the former "Savior of the Masses." But instead we're getting the same masquerading hijinks that Sandow APOLOGIZED FOR just two weeks ago on Raw. So my initial qualm with Sandow is what an absolute joke he is becoming, and I can only hope that Curtis Axel isn't affected in the long term. My second nagging gripe with this gimmick is the Macho Man impression in general. Look—Jay Lethal already did this shit. And he did it while the dude was still alive. And he did a far better job than Damian Sandow. Everyone can do a Macho Man impression, why not pick one of Hogan's other partners? I would have much preferred to see Damian the Barber Beefcake. I pray to the wrestling gods—Vince McMahon Sr., Jim Barnett, Jim Crockett, etc—that this is a one-time deal, and that the "Minor Powers," as David Otunga named them, never "explode." I think the ship has absolutely set sail for Konnor and Viktor, and given my hopeless optimism for the future of the WWE, I'm inclined to give my prediction to Macho Mandow and Axelmania. I hope they beat the Ascension, they "Hulk Up" and pose down for a few minutes, and then go their separate ways forever. Is that what's going to happen? Of course not. These guys will be together until Wrestlemania 35.
Educated Guess: Macho Mandow & Axel Mania

3. Barrett and Neville

King Barrett vs. Adrian Neville
This Sunday we'll be doing our monthly pay-per-view recap show at the "B+ Players Podcast." Last month I gave Barrett and Neville's Kick Off show performance a star rating of three and three quarters. Their match two nights later at the King of the Ring earned a solid four. These two Englishmen are in no way strangers to one another, after mixing it up for the better part of the last month. I'm interested to see what they can accomplish now that their feud has legs to stand on, and is being promoted to the main card of a pay-per-view. I've got to stop calling them that. It's a "WWE Network Special," and not only that—it's FREE again this month! What the fuck man? I've been paying ten bucks a month for 15 months—that's $150 invested in a product that you continue to give away to CASUAL FANS for free on a monthly mother fucking basis. Back to the match. Adrian Neville—because I refuse to call him "Neville"—has been gifted two nicknames since debuting with the WWE. Not only is he being billed as "The Man that Gravity Forgot," but he's also being called "The New Sensation." I can't remember this much hype going into an individual debut since we found out that his name is Finlay—"AND HE LOVES TO FIGHT!" Neville has had some awesome matches in recent weeks with former WWE world champions such as Sheamus and even John Cena. I don't think there's any ceiling set for how successful this guy could potentially be, but I think it's safe to assume defeat is on the agenda for young Adrian Neville this Sunday. Wade Barrett has made the transition from "Bad News" to "King" almost seamlessly, and it's hard to predict a loss for someone just over two weeks removed from winning the King of the Ring.
Educated Guess: King Barrett

4. Ziggler Sheamus

Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus
It's a pretty good sign that the show will be good when the match I'm least looking forward to is a one-on-one bout between Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus. I've really been loving the new "Celtic Warrior" dynamic since Sheamus returned to the WWE. He shocked the world when he manhandled Daniel Bryan just days after his intercontinental title win at Wrestlemania, and went on to make life for Dolph Ziggler a living nightmare. Last month was the infamous "Kiss Me Arse" match, where Sheamus refused to live up to his own stipulation, instead forcing Dolph to kiss HIS arse. Two nights later, live on the WWE Network, Dolph Ziggler delivered a receipt in the form of a punishing assault that left the 2-time WWE Champion spewing DNA from his forehead. Their feud hasn't quieted down in any way, and has only served to elevate Dolph Ziggler and further intensify Sheamus. I'm quick to pick Sheamus as the victor in this unpredictable contest, but start to slow my roll after running down the rest of the card. This would appear to be a "Heel-Heavy" night, wherein most matches will end with "Bad Guys" reigning supreme. If there's to be any babyface victory during the event, I would probably have to pick Dolph Ziggler. That being said, we DO have another "WWE Network Special" in two weeks—and another in one month. Maybe we WILL see a night where only evil can prevail?
Educated Guess: Sheamus

5. Tag Team Match

WWE Tag Team Championship – 2/3 Falls Match
Kidd & Cesaro vs. The New Day (c)
Is there any doubt in anyone's mind that this will be the match of the night? These teams have produced some of the absolute best matches the WWE has seen—IN YEARS! That's not hyperbole, that's reality. I have trouble investing myself in WWE Superstars because their in-ring ability is oftentimes inhibited by the parameters placed on them by producers. You might see a stellar performance on Raw, and then an embarrassing display on Smackdown, simply because individuals weren't allotted the same time, or "freedom," that they were on the previous show. My point is that these five men could be the exception to the rule, having faced each other in any number of combinations during an assortment of various matches. They appeared during the Kick Off for the Royal Rumble and blew the tag team title match later in the show out of the water; they opened Wrestlemania 31 during another Kick Off appearance as two-fourths of a multi-team championship match; and last month they stole the show in a bona fied 4-Star Match. They've been a consummate part of Raw and Smackdown, and continue to put on "Match of the Night" performances, despite however long or short the encounter might be. I'm completely confident that they'll deliver, especially in this 2-out-of-3 falls match, and will be incredibly surprised if the action falls short. Educated Guess: The New Day

6. Wyatt Ryback

Ryback vs. Bray Wyatt
The most recent match added to the card is the bizarre brawl bound to take place when Bray Wyatt comes face-to-face with Ryback. Wyatt has been issuing an ominous challenge since losing to the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, but nobody seemed to know to whom he was speaking. I suggested that it could be Roman Reigns, given the clues in Bray's weekly monologue, and was slightly disappointed to discover instead—that it was Ryback. Nothing against the talent and charisma of Ryan Reeves, I just don't see him as a player on the same level as Bray Wyatt. Ryback challenged for the WWE title back when CM PUNK was the champion, and has since played more of an enforcer role in the upper-mid card. Bray Wyatt however, has squared off with both the Undertaker and John Cena at Wrestlemania, and appears to be a far more visible face across the entirety of WWE programming. I also think Bray Wyatt desperately needs a win, and I don't believe it should be at the detriment of ANOTHER WWE Superstar, who ALSO can't afford to keep losing. I think it's a foregone conclusion that Bray Wyatt will walk out with his hand held high, and I'll take it a step further: Rowan and Harper will appear to help the "Eater of Worlds" defeat the "Big Guy." The Wyatt Family will return.
Educated Guess: Bray Wyatt

7. I Quit

WWE United States Championship – "I Quit" Mach
John Cena (c) vs. Rusev
This will be the FOURTH TIME IN A ROW that John Cena has gone to war with Rusev, which could quite possibly be a record for WWE in terms of booking. John Cena is currently 2-1 over the "Bulgarian Brute" and "Pride of the Russian Federation." The big story going into this match is Lana; "WHOSE SIDE IS (S)HE ON?!" Remember that? ANOTHER Bobby Heenan reference. Word going around the internet is that Lana will soon lose her Russian accent, and become the "Female Face" of the WWE. While that's certainly possible, I don't think it's time—and I don't think the WWE thinks it's time either. My Educated Guess for this match is a bit more detailed, so please indulge me for a moment: Lana will slip with the American accent during the Kick Off, making us all wonder what's going to happen. She'll continue to smile John Cena's way, and he'll keep making comments to Rusev and the audience about how popular she is. This is all—wait for it—A SWERVE! John Cena won't quit, not because he's in pain and can't continue! Rusev will be out of options, and will grab Lana as though she is his hostage. He'll trap her in the Accolade, while Cena is—for some reason, handcuffs maybe—unable to stop him. Cena will have no choice but to say "I Quit" to save the woman he thinks is starting to see the light of day. Unfortunately, as Admiral Ackbar would say: "IT'S A TRAP!" Do you think Admiral Ackbar will be in Star Wars Episode 7? How long do Mon Calamari live? I think John Cena is dropping his United States strap to the former champion, and I think Lana will reveal herself to be a "Double Agent." That will give her a reason to drop the Russian accent on Raw, while maintaining her evil character for the time being. In fact, it could generate even more heat; a blonde haired, blue eyed American supermodel siding with the SOVIET UNION? I know that's not what they're called anymore. It's all about alliteration with me. That will also put their series at 2 wins a piece, creating all the more reason for a fifth and final battle at either Elimination Chamber or Money in the Bank.
Educated Guess: Rusev

8. Main Event

WWE World Heavyweight Championship – Fatal Four-way
Dean Ambrose vs. Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins (c) vs. Roman Reigns
Who cares? With so much going on in the undercard, I couldn't care less about how Seth Rollins retains his title. There's no question as to who is walking away the winner, but how is it going to go down? Actually, that's just as predictable. Let's see what we're working with here: Seth Rollins is definitely winning, right? Okay, that's settled. And Dean Ambrose is only in this match to catch the pinfall, right? Nice, now we're cooking with gas! So the question now pertains to how Randy Orton and Roman Reigns will make their presence felt. I GOT IT! Dean and Randy are wrestling in the ring while everyone else is off somewhere waiting for their cue. Roman appears and attempts to Spear Randy Orton, but hits his former Shield brother instead. After Roman pops up from the impact, he's met with an RKO—OUT OF NOWHERE—from Randy Orton, who immediately goes for the pin, but is robbed by Seth Rollins, who only wins matches when he steals the victory. Which is totally okay with me, it's just mildly predictable at this point. It wasn't right to say who cares, because I do care about this match. But given the fact that Seth Rollins has been given the ball for the foreseeable future, and Dean Ambrose has never been in such a high profile position, it's easy to narrow the field down to declare a winner. Seth Rollins is winning, which means Kane is FIRED!
Educated Guess: Seth Rollins

I said earlier that this show is the least intriguing event of the three we'll be getting in the next six weeks. While that's true, it certainly seems as though this card has what it takes to deliver. I still expect a Diva's match of some kind to be announced, in which case I'll edit this entry. Maybe. Probably not. Remember to check out the "B+ Players Podcast: Payback Reactions" featuring our musical guests Milan Martin and Dave Sloyan, as well as "The Wrestling Broad" Brianne Marie.
