IIn a couple days World Wrestling (Always remember the 2nd W) Entertainment brings us its next Pay Per View slash Network Supershow. A show that has had a surprising bit of story telling going into all the announced matches, (not saying they're all GOOD stories, but they have stories, dammit! Which is more than what usually get!) – clearly with the injury to Ryback something is probably about to change. So lets sit down and take a look at the Battleground and see if I can give you the necessary information to make some cash.
R-Truth and King Barrett go back to Wrestlemania. When Barrett's Intercontinental Championship was being stolen and passed around leading to the Mania Ladder match. Then both men were in the King of the Ring. Which Barrett won (who knew the real "Bad News" was in being a winner of the King of the Ring in 2015) – Truth has enjoyed tormenting the "King", donning a tin foil Burger King crown and matching plunger, King Wassup was born. This enraged the King of the Ring. On TV they've exchanged victories. Barrett has been incensed by R-Truth's tomfoolery and shenanigans. SO? At the Battleground pre-show (Possibly with the bump to the main card) – they settle who is the true KING.
FAVORITE!
King Bad News: -300. I can't wrap my head around how much he's lost since winning King of the Ring. Way to make the return of that tourny meaningless, WWE!
UNDERDOG!
King Wassup: +250. No need for Truth to win here. He's gotten good mileage out of King Wassup.
Prop Bets O' the Match!
Does this get moved to the main card: No -200. Yes +100.
Do we care? Nope. -2480 YES… WE CARE TOO MUCH! +4700.
OVERVIEW!
Remember the post Raw mania in the New York/New Jersey area? The crowd was crazy and really revolted against one match in particular. That match? Sheamus vs. Orton. So these two are not strangers. Like the pre show duo, these two were involved in a ladder match recently. Money in the Bank, which Sheamus won. The next night They continued their hostility, and Sheamus took out Orton who was gone for a few weeks. Until he returned and "Bidness picked back up". Sunday the Apex Predator and Celtic Warrior battle it out… for… something.
FAVORITE!
Randy Orton: -400. Randy Orton doesn't lose, much. Money in the Bank briefcase holder's don't WIN much. Plus Orton needs his revenge on Sheamus.
UNDERDOG!
Sheamus: +100. He COULD win, but he won't. He's got bigger things in his future and doesn't need the win. Be interesting if yet again Orton beats the MitB holder only for that holder to cash in later in the night (See: Rollins, Seth at Mania, Wrestle)
Prop Bet O' the Match!
RKO: Outta No Where -300. Outta Somewhere! +150.
OVERVIEW!
Kevin Owens debuted. Was awesome. Beat Cena. Cena got a win back. They continued to tempt and tease having matches in Cena's US Open Challenge, but either Owens was driven off by other challengers, or just decided to continue to mess with Cena. This third match between the two will be the first time the United States Championship will be on the line. Owens has struggle as of late. Lost clean twice over the last months to Finn Balor. Been doing a lot of retreating on Raw and Smackdown. There are a lot of nerves inside the IWC right now. (See: Wyatt, Bray. and Rusev, [redacted])
FAVORITE!
Kevin Owens: -100. Slight favorite. He needs the win. Cena has accomplished his mission of reestablishing the US Title as something of merit inside the WWE. This is the best chance to drop it and move onto something else for Summerslam.
UNDERDOG!
John Cena: +150. Like I pointed out above. Best chance here (Or maybe next month as Summerslam) and with all the great matches and wear and tear on Cena since Mania. My lone cause of concern? Cena has a role in Trainwreck which comes out this weekend. Could WWE want to keep a championship on Cena for that reason?
Prop Bet O' the Match!
Over/Under Attitude Adjustments: 3.5
Needs More Cesaro: YES! -300. YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT IT DOES!!! -110. No +GoHomeYourDrunk
OVERVIEW!
Prime Time Players beat the New Day at Money in the Bank. A nice win for the two. Now New Day is putting their automatic rematch for a shot to regain their tag team titles. This match the New Day will, once again, have the added wild card of a third member ring side to wreak havoc. If you recall at Money in the Bank, Kofi wasn't out there selling the brutality of the ladder match. Will New (clap) Day Rock (clap-clap) ? Or are PTP gonna roll into the biggest party of the Summer, STILL WWE Tag Team Champions?
FAVORITE!
The New Day: -200. I think with the numbers advantage the New Day gets a win and regains the tag team championships. PLUS, the division is more fun with New Day on top and PTP and Lucha Dragons chasing. By the way if I may plug something for New Dayer, Xavier Woods. His "up up down down" video game video blog on youtube about video games is really entertaining. Lots of WWE cameos.
UNDERDOG!
Prime Time Players: +50. Not a huge underdog. Totally could see them winning. They were more fun chasing. Their reign has fallen a bit flat for me. That's why I see NEW tag Team champions.
Prop Bets O' the Match!
Over/Under: Darren Young Face in Peril: 6 minutes 33 seconds.
Manager slash Cheerleader: Kofi -100. Woods -200. Big E +200.
OVERVIEW!
Ryback is the champion. Big Show came back and KO'd him wanting to take the Intercontinental Championship. Miz got himself involved. The title was set to be defended in a triple threat match… BUT? Ryback has been hospitalized with a staph infection (Insert CM Punk references, jokes, and snide comments here.) – So I have no clue what they're going to do here. Maybe establish an "Interim" Champion? Maybe just have Miz and Show battle for #1 Contendership for the IC Title? What I DO know? This match could use more Cesaro!
FAVORITE!
NA. No clue what's going on in the match. Its been taken off the board.
Prop Bet O' the Match!
Will there be an IC title match at Battleground. NO: -300. Yes: +200.
OVERVIEW!
Wrestlemania, Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Pinned Roman Reigns and stole the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from the Beast Incarnate. The next night Lesnar destroyed… well… everything. Which was both AWESOME, and AWFUL (We're looking at you sad panda Byron Saxton) – He was suspended for a few months, then came back. He apologized. Got destroyed. Destroyed MORE stuff. Sidelined Kane. Killed a Cadillac. Broke Jamie Noble's ribs… have I missed anything? Oh and Triple H brought him back and gave him a title shot assuming he apologized. Rollins has slimed his way to win after win. The Authority helping him at every turn. Be it J and J Security, or Corporate Kane? But his relationship with the Authority is the new "Ross and Rachel". They get together and separate more than Show turns. On Raw he ditched Kane… again. So now its looking very bleak for the Architect of the Shield.
FAVORITE!
Seth Rollins Retains: -300. I can't see him losing here, and YET? I can't see Lesnar losing either. So Vegas loves the possibility of a non finish here.
Lesnar Wins: -200. If Rollins isn't winning by DQ/Countout/Screwjob fashion? THE REIGNING… DEFENDING… UNDISPUTED WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION WILL ONCE AGAIN BE… BUUUUUUROCK! LEEEEEEESSSSSSSSNAR!
UNDERDOG!
Rollins Wins by Pinfall/Submission: +400.
Prop Bet O' the Match!
Over/Under Suplex: 11.5
Curb Stomp: Yes -150. No +200.
Rollins Gets Help: Yes -240. No +400.
