WWE.com has learned that, as a result of the controversial events of the SummerSlam World Title Match between Alberto Del Rio and World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, the furious Del Rio has lodged a formal protest with SmackDown General Manager Booker T.

During the whirlwind championship showdown in front of the sold-out STAPLES Center, The Great White intercepted a shoe – entered into the action by Ricardo Rodriguez – and smashed Del Rio over the head with it. Then, moments later, when his Del Rio managed to put his leg on the rope during the referee's three-count, Sheamus smacked it off the rope before the official could take notice.

Later in the evening Mike Chioda, the referee who presided over the questionable World Title Match admitted his mistake in a WWE.com Exclusive. Del Rio screamed of the unfortunate official, and is now demanding serious action be taken by Booker T to rectify the situation.

For his part, The Great White gave his opinion of the match outcome on Tout.

In response to the protest filed by Del Rio, GM Booker T also Touted following SummerSlam, revealing that he will address the situation this Friday night on SmackDown.
