New Day vs Stardust and Goldust
I don't know why but I thought The New Day was going to come into WWE as a heel faction. Didn't they cut a heel promo back in September? Do you think WWE balked at the idea due to current social events? Hmmmm that sounds like a potential article one day…. Stay tuned…. Anywho (I use it too Sami Zayn) I predict a New Day win here. The WWE needs a fresh new face tag team to challenge the Mizs eventually. And I totally dig the Freebird style that they are going for. As for the Dust brothers, their run together has been so up and down. A year ago they were the hottest team in the company, but that momentum has cooled. I am not so sure their heel turn was necessary, but hopefully this leads the long rumored match between Cody and Dustin, and The Artist Formerly Known As… can ride off into the sunset, having added an awesome chapter in his legacy that has probably guaranteed him a Hall of Fame induction.
Ladder Match for the IC Title- Luke Harper vs Dolph Ziggler
I felt that this title change was a little rushed and not necessary. Harper as IC champ has grown on me, especially after Ziggler's Survivor Series performance. Both these men are awesome talents, and some of the greatest ladder matches of all time have been contested over the IC title. I anticipate this to be match of the night, with a Harper victory. Ziggler will have probably be the star of next month's Rumble and don't be surprised to see him in the final four. Harper will move onto to unfinished business with Rowan before mixing it up with an unexpected opponent (not sure why but Ambrose keeps popping into my head as a potential opponent.
WWE Tag Team Title Match- Usos vs Mizs
What is left for the Usos? I think they have been in every tag team title match in 2014? They always deliver a solid performance, but none of the feuds have ever been more than " bad guy team wants tag titles." Finally, with the Hollywood Agent storyline, we finally have a tag title feud with some substance in 2014. And I have to say I dig this story. I don't recall a similar one in recent memory, so kudos to the much maligned writers. And what else can be said about Miz and Mizdow. Miz is always criminally underrated and underused, and Sandoq has a found a great comedic character. It is a tough pill to swallow that Sandow will probably end up as the Santino replacement, because like Santino he actually has pure wrestling talent outside comedy. But WWE never cuts the comedy act, and they always get their time to shine each week. This feud continues on until the Rumble and Miz/Mizdow pick up the win.
Chairs Match- Ryback vs Kane
I am NOT a fan of gimmick pay-per-views. But we have to live with them, and when done right like Money in the Bank they can be solid shows. TLC never feels like it deserves its own PPV. The fact that WWE takes it literally and breaks down in a tables, ladders, and chairs match is moronic. Has there EVER been a good chairs match? Anyway Ryback is on a strong push and getting over. I have never been a huge fan, but I am actually finally invested in him. Ryback wins and Kane goes back to selling hot dogs (seriously that gimmick has legs)
Stairs Match- Big Show vs Erick Rowan
Erick Rowan wins. Let's just move on.
TLC Match- Dean Ambrose vs Bray Wyatt
Anyone else get the feeling that this feud was rushed, or too early in these guy's careers? I don't think it will last past Royal Rumble, therefore it was just kind of a filler feud for two guys who probably deserve better. Like Rock and HHH, I see this feud being revisited at different times and when both men are higher up the card. I think we see a Wyatt victory here, as he needs to look strong going into Mania, where he is rumored to fight a certain someone. A loss doesn't hurt Dean. Ambrose is a very human character. He has his flaws and, like his spiritual predecessor CM Punk before him, will not be measured by his win-loss record.
Divas Title Match- AJ Lee vs Niki Bella
I am an optimist. I like to think WWE treats AJ Lee fairly, completely independent of her marital associations. I think WWE even goes out of their way to book her strongly just to save face. I liked the match at Survivor Series. I thoughts the quick victory was just story advancement, and well done advancement at that. I expect this match to go longer. I do not think this will be AJ's last hurrah, but if it is I cannot help but be disappointed by her career in WWE. She was supposed to take the Diva's to the next level, yet was never truly given the reigns (wait a second….is that why that's his name?). Niki for the win here though.
Tables Match- John Cena vs Seth Rollins
If John Cena were to ever catch me checking out Niki Bella's sculpted behind and challenge me to a fight, I would suggest a tables match. This seems to be the kryptonite for The Franchise (also if Cena were ever to turn heel he should use the nickname the Franchise… no one else has ever used it right?). Hell he even lost a tables match to R Truth on Pipebomb Night. Seth is on a roll, and is currently my favorite main roster superstar. This match should be a really really solid affair. Cena never puts on a bad match, and always steps up. Naysayers be damned, John boy is always willing to put over a young deserving talent, and Rollins is that guy (even if it ends up not so cleanly). I like that Cena's number one contendership hangs in the balance, and hopefully WWE has called a mulligan on Cena Lesnar 3. John needs to be away from the title for a while, and honestly Lesnar needs to work with someone else. I see Rollins going over here, obviously with dastardly assistance.
